Sweather and sock dolls

Feb,4th 2010 Thursday
Today I am working on new designs for the sweather and sock dolls. I will be posting pics later. I feel such a freedom making these dolls as I do not follow a pattern and just do what strikes my fancy. Anything goes, you don't even ned o use a sewing machine.
I am going to try some out on mohair and see what happens and maybe mae a pincushion out og a small one. I amjust playing and will see wha transpires!!!!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day.We are having a Valentine's Day Winter Doll Challenge on Creative Cloth Dollmakers and Doll Designers.Participants are asked to make a doll from any pattern they wish or from your own designs and send their photo to me at beachbabydolls@gmail.com by February 10th.It can be a art doll,prim doll,baby doll or any type of doll.Anyone on Creative Cloth Dollmakers and Doll Designers can participate in this doll challenge.The voting for this challenge starts February 11th-February 14th with the winner being announced on Valentine's Day.All members from Creative Cloth Dollmakers and Doll Designers can vote on the winner.The winner will receive a free Valentine's Day Pin Doll E-Pattern.

We are having an Easter Doll Challenge on Creative Cloth Dollmakers and Doll Designers.

The Guidelines are simple:

1.Sign up by February 14th.

2.Pattern of your choice.

3.Be as Creative as you wish.

4.Pattern of your choice.

5.Any Size and any type of doll.

6.If you decide to make a Easter Baby Doll the doll has to be between 10''-17'' tall.

7.The Easter doll can be dressed in an Easter Bunny Suit,an Easter Egg,or in a more traditional Easter Sunday Best outfit.

8.If you dress the doll in a more traditional Easter Sunday Best outfit.The doll if it is a girl make a dress with a bonnet and if it is a boy make a cute boys outfit with a cap.

9.Have Fun!!!!

10.Post Pictures of your finished doll to the studio of your choice by April 1st.All Participants will be featured on the different studio blogs for Easter.

Home is Where the Art Is Challenge in the Doll Challenge Studio

Traci has come up with a great idea for the first challenge in the Doll Challenge Studio here on Creative Cloth Dollmakers and Doll Designers.It is called Home Is Where The Art Is Challenge.

The Challenge is to create that represents the state (hometown can added as well) that they reside in.The opportunities are endless for the imagination.-such as the doll can represent the state bird,flower,motto,and whatever the state (and hometown-if applicable by the artist's representation) is famous for- such when I hear New York- I think of Miss Liberty!Famous people can be represented-but it must be very clear that they represent the state they are representing (such as Paul Bunyan represents a state.)

The possibilites are endless,it does require thought and for the creative juices to flow,but I kept thinking about how neat it would be to see the various art dolls with unique ideas used to show what part of America they are from,and what makes it so special,what it is best known for...It would be like expressing history!A learning lesson through history!

If there are members that are out of the country-the challenge still applies for them to create a doll will the same guidelines...

The sign up date for this challenge is January 15th 2010.The deadline to finish the doll is April 22,2010.Earth Day.
